Ascot Homeowners Association The Ascot Homeowners Association Board met on July 1st at the Grange in Great Falls for a special meeting to approve the amended and restated By-laws. The By-Laws were approved and passed by a vote of 16 yes and 0 – no votes. Six people attended the meeting and there were 10 proxies. After the special meeting the board held their regular monthly meeting, which started at 7:45 Bob Naftal, Mike Lee, Lars Okeson, and Paul Celluzzi were in attendance. Treasurer’s Report: Lars reported that there are 2 homeowners who have not paid their dues. Each homeowner will get a letter in the mail asking them to pay. Common Grounds: The board received two negative comments on the bush hogging of the common ground. If homeowners have an opinion on the continued bush hogging, please contact a board member. Note – the bush hogging was referred to in previous minutes and has been listed as a separate line item on the approved budget. Other items that need attending to in the common ground - beds need weeding and the shoulder needs mowing. Also a tree needs to come down near the tennis court. Mike has contacted the tree people and it should be removed in July. Capital Improvements: The following items are being considered for capital improvements – an Ascot sign, benches, and trees. Tennis Court: The Annual maintenance for the court is due and Lars will contact the company to arrange for the work to be done. If painting is needed he will get a price for that work. Mike and Paul attended the Route 7 expansion meeting; the next expansion will only affect Route 7 from Reston Parkway to the Loudoun County line. The road work will be finished sometime in 2005. Check the county website for more information. Our next board meeting will be on August 4th at 7:15 at Lars house. The meeting concluded at 9:15 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Web:
